Certified Facial Recognition Models

Keyless' face recognition model leverages cutting-edge deep learning techniques, refined over time with specialized datasets primarily collected in-house, alongside extensive telemetry data from production environments. This approach has led to exceptionally low authentication error rates, confirmed by both internal testing and independent assessments.

Our liveness detection engine, which is certified to FIDO standards under ISO 30107 levels 1 and 2 by an accredited independent lab, our face recognition model is FIDO certified and trusted by banks globally. Optimized for mobile devices, the model integrates seamlessly with our MPC module for efficient, secure authentication.

Adaptive Biometric Pipeline

Keyless’ biometric pipeline is trained on diverse images from multiple identities, capturing each user in various conditions—different accessories (e.g., hats, sunglasses), makeup, and at different ages.

This training enables our models to generalize effectively, accurately recognizing users despite natural changes.

Unlike competing systems, Keyless does not require frequent template updates to adapt to these variations.

ISO/IEC 30107-3

Keyless is certified against ISO/IEC 30107-3, an international standard that sets guidelines for testing liveness detection in biometric systems, ensuring they prevent fraud like fake biometric samples. It focuses on presentation attacks rather than deepfake detection.

FIDO Biometrics Certified

Keyless' biometric security platform is FIDO Biometrics certified, with testing by Fime. This globally recognized standard ensures biometric authentication is secure, privacy-compliant, and resistant to spoofing, enabling real-time identity authentication.

NIST FRVT 1:1 Verification

Keyless is the highest-ranked commercially available biometric authentication provider. The NIST FRVT 1:1 Verification is a globally recognized benchmark for facial recognition algorithms. Keyless ranked within the Mugshot category, which serves as the baseline for facial recognition technology.

Preventing Bias in Facial Recognition Systems

Keyless has invested extensively in building biometric models that do not exhibit bias with respect to race, gender, and other characteristics. To this end, we have collected a unique dataset that includes data from eight different ethnicities, equally split between genders, under a variety of lightning and motion conditions. We used this dataset to refine our face recognition and liveness detection systems. As a result, the performance of our biometric pipeline is homogeneous across various characteristics, and the error rates are below our targets in all the classes considered in our evaluation.
